
SHYNE officially launches to drive renewable hydrogen in Spain
The newly formed association SHYNE held its official launch event, bringing together leading figures from the energy sector. The event highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in advancing the development of renewable hydrogen in Spain.
The event began with a welcome from moderator Marta Reyero, followed by an opening address from Javier Arboleda, General Director of SHYNE. Arboleda emphasized the need for close collaboration with public administrations to boost sector financing and foster demand development.
Subsequently, two-panel discussions were held where industry experts debated the challenges and opportunities of renewable hydrogen. The first panel, titled "Production, Transport, and Distribution of Renewable Hydrogen," featured Emma Nogueira (Bosch), Elena Corrales (Navantia Seanergies), Mercedes Martín González (Enagás), and Luis Iglesias Rodriguez (Enagás Renovable). The second panel, focused on the consumption of renewable hydrogen and its future in a decarbonized world, included Miguel Angel Alonso Julia (Alsa), Maribel Rodríguez Olmo (Repsol), and Emilio Garcia (Talgo).
To close the event, Tomas Malango, Director of Renewable Fuels and Circular Economy at Repsol and President of SHYNE, summarized the key conclusions of the panels and outlined the association's next steps towards the energy transition. The institutional closing was given by Joan Groizard Payeras, Secretary of State for Energy, who offered his strategic vision on the industrial and technological challenge and opportunity of renewable hydrogen.
The launch of SHYNE marks an important milestone in the development of renewable hydrogen in Spain and underscores the sector's commitment to the energy transition.
